The Sarpal Group is a private enterprise development, strategic advisory, and management platform. We originate, structure, build, manage, reposition, and commercialize ventures and projects — and we advise owners, investors, executives, and institutions facing the same kind of work.
We are intentionally senior-led. Rather than maintaining a large generalist bench, we form mandate-specific teams of operators and independent professionals across finance, law, accounting, engineering, construction, design, technology, communications, and commercialization. The client receives the right expertise for the problem, with direct accountability at the centre.
Our affiliated platforms — in energy and AI infrastructure, real estate, intelligent systems, and sport — are where that model is tested every day.

Operating model
Principal leadership at the centre. Mandate-specific expertise around it.
Every engagement is led by the principal and staffed with the specialists the work requires — no more, no fewer. Teams are formed for the mandate and dissolved when it is done, which keeps accountability singular and cost proportionate to the problem.

- Execution
Third-party professionals engaged on a mandate remain independent and provide their own regulated services where applicable. The Sarpal Group coordinates; it does not practise law, accounting, engineering, or architecture, and it does not act as a registered dealer or adviser.
Heritage
Generations of building.
The Sarpal Group's story begins before the Group existed — in a family enterprise, New Prominent, built by the generation before Sunny Sarpal and led by his uncle. It spanned manufacturing, furniture production, import and export, and real estate. Sunny was raised inside it: on the shop floor, in the yard, and at the table where decisions were made. That is where a production-first, accountability-driven way of working was formed — and it is the standard the Group carries today.
- I
The family enterprise
New Prominent — manufacturing, furniture production, import and export, and real estate. A multi-generational business, and the first classroom.
- II
Heavy construction
Work with Centcom Construction, one of Western Canada's oldest general contractors, across petrochemical, oil and gas, and power facilities.
- III
Modular manufacturing
Building and leading five business divisions delivering First Nations housing, parks and recreation facilities, and cottage projects across Western Canada.
- IV
Technology
Founding and scaling a digital signage company in Alberta's enterprise market — the first bridge between physical assets and software.
- V
Havenz and AHI
Founding Havenz Smart Communities and originating the AHI campus in Central Alberta, where power, land, capital and technology are delivered as one system.
- VI
The Sarpal Group
The platform that carries the family's builder's discipline forward — strategy, capital and execution for the next generation of enterprises.
Family and heritage details are published at the level the family has approved.
Generations of opportunity
Built to outlast a single cycle.
We build for the people who will inherit the work. Enduring assets — land, power and buildings designed for decades. Compounding platforms — each strengthening the next. Opportunity shared — partnerships, careers and community value that continue after any one project is complete. That is the measure of a generational enterprise, and the reason the Group exists.
Principles
How we align.
Our operating principles are informed by Ray Dalio's Principles, adapted to how a principal-led platform actually works. Ray Dalio and Bridgewater Associates are not affiliated with The Sarpal Group.
- 01
Radical truth, radical transparency
The real numbers, the real risks and the real disagreements go on the table early, with everyone who needs to see them.
- 02
An idea meritocracy
The best idea wins, weighted by the believability of the person offering it — not by title, tenure or volume.
- 03
Pain + reflection = progress
Every mandate closes with a written reflection on what we got wrong, what we learned and what changes.
- 04
Design the machine
Each platform is a machine of people and processes. When outcomes miss, we fix the design, not only the output.
- 05
Know what you don't know
We bring in independent specialists precisely where our own believability is lowest, and we say so.
- 06
Get the people and incentives right
Alignment of incentives is a design requirement of every structure we build, never an afterthought.
Principles by Ray Dalio (Simon & Schuster, 2017) is cited as an influence only; the phrasing above is The Sarpal Group's own.
